Interest on Certificates of Deposit is compounded daily if added back to the certificate. Interest paid by check or deposited into a statement savings account monthly is paid as simple interest. Certificates automatically renew at maturity at the prevailing interest rate. There is a five (5) day grace period after the maturity date. Interest will not be earned after the maturity date (Truth-in-Savings Disclosures). An early withdrawal penalty equal to three (3) months of interest may be imposed for early withdrawals.
